Profit and Loss Statement Template

Privacy policy

Last updated October 14, 2026

Nothing you add to the tool leaves your device. This page explains what that means, what little we do collect, and how to clear what is stored in your browser.

Your bank files

When you add a CSV file or a PDF statement to the bank statement tool on the profit and loss statement template page, your browser reads it on your own computer or phone. The file is not uploaded to us or to anyone else, and the transactions, amounts and descriptions are never sent over the network. The same is true of the fill-online PDF form: the PDF is made on your device. You can confirm this in your browser's developer tools, which list every network request a page makes.

Choices saved on this device

When you change a transaction's category, the tool can remember the choice so it sorts the same merchant the same way next time. It saves only the cleaned-up merchant name, whether the money went in or out, the category and the date of the change. It saves no amounts, no transaction dates and no full descriptions. Rows you add by hand are not saved at all: they are gone when you close the page.

The tool keeps three small items in your browser's local storage on this device: pnlt.rules.v1 (your category choices), pnlt.remember.v1 (whether to remember them) and pnlt.paper.v1 (Letter or A4 for the lender PDF). Untick "Remember my category choices on this device" to stop saving choices, or press "Forget my choices" to delete all three. Clearing your browser's site data removes them too.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to count page views and button presses, such as a template download or the tool finishing a statement. Events carry simple labels like the file format or the type of business you picked, never amounts, names, merchant names, file names or file contents. Analytics loads only after the page has finished loading.

The contact form

If you send a message, we receive what you type: your message, and your name and email address if you give them. We also record the country your message came from, not your IP address. We use your email only to reply to you, and we keep messages so we can answer them and fix what they report.

What we do not do

We do not sell or rent your data, we do not show ads, and we do not ask you to sign up. The site is served through Cloudflare, which handles the technical details of each page request in order to deliver it.

Questions

Ask us anything about this policy through the contact form. If we change the policy, the date at the top changes too.
